Highlights of the Year
2024

Join us for a stroll through the best bits of ICG in 2024. Big thanks to everyone for their commitment, hard work and positive energy.

January

How many followers has Taylor Swift got on Insta? More than Ronaldo?

Everyone loves a higher and lower game – and it went down a treat with pupils at the Fylde Coast Responsible Business Network Careers Fair.

We asked students to rank celebrities, sporting stars and pop stars according to their followers on Instagram – it was a great way to get everyone thinking and talking about marketing!

We also paid a visit to Blackpool Aspire Academy to speak to their Year 9 pupils explaining what skills, subjects and interests would be a good match for our sector.

February

Run ICG, run…

The dark days of winter are always brightened up by our annual conference and this year we headed to Fuengirola in Spain on the Costa del Sol for some beach front vibes.

One of the highlights of the weekend was a running festival in Torremolinos.

Team ICG (Liam, Beth, Julie, Sam and Simon) took part in a 5km run with Sam taking first place in his age group.

Sam and Simon went back for more the following day for a half marathon! They both finished sub 1 hour 30 mins – very impressive.

March

When you think of darts players there may be a stereotype that comes to mind, but who knew there are top darts players hiding everywhere, even at ICG?!

As part of our social, we held a darts competition where the winner took home a cash prize. Grabbing the top spot was Sam, who gets his darts practice every lunchtime in the office games room.

Second was Simon, who still really has no idea how that happened, but enjoyed his Easter egg runner-up prize. A dark horse was Abi who did incredibly well and definitely made her mark in the competition!

April

People are most important to us at ICG, and this year we welcomed two new members of staff to the family.

Emma joined us as a Senior Account Manager, closely followed by Natasha as a Marketing Executive. It’s been great getting to know our newcomers.

Check out our Take 5 blog series to learn a little more about Emma and Natasha, including interesting facts that not many people know…

And, we were also delighted to welcome the patter of tiny feet to the wider ICG family with the arrival of baby Orla and baby Rory.

May

We’re huge advocates of supporting our team’s mental wellbeing so we joined the nation in going green for Mental Health Awareness Week.

‘Movement’ was this year’s theme so we encouraged everyone to get up and away from their desks.

Kitted out in green, we headed out en masse for a lunchtime amble around Warton complete with an ice cream pit stop.

June

Rochdale, Coventry, London, Birmingham, Manchester, Basildon, Wembley, London…the list goes on.

Nothing beats a face-to-face meeting and who can resist brunch at the services on the M6 toll?

Whether it’s capturing content for Rochdale Riverside or catching up for a website project in Wales, it’s always good to chat in person over a brew and a spreadsheet!

Mad//Fest, the BBSA Show and client networking events are just some of the highlights of 2024.

July

Happy 30th birthday, ICG! This month marked our 30th anniversary and the first of our celebrations. Everyone got together to share good food at our family party, complete with pizza van.

We also commemorated the launch of our new website, showcasing a new look in honour of our journey from 1994 to the present.

Thanks to all our colleagues, clients and suppliers for ICG’s continued success. Here’s to the next 30 years!

August

It was a pleasure to be involved in some amazing charities and awareness campaigns this year.

In April it was Football Shirt Friday and all money raised went towards care for those with bowel cancer. As an agency home to some serious football fans, this was a day to remember.

For Comic Relief, we had a charity bake sale and held a quiz to identify which person had which poster on their wall as a teen!

In keeping with our 30th anniversary celebrations, we held a 1994 Fancy Dress Day and bake sale in October, raising money for Breast Cancer Research.

September

As part of our 30th birthday events, we launched a new staff awards celebration called The Barnies!

Paying tribute to the quirks and personalities that make our team truly unique, the awards were named in honour of our offices – a converted barn.

We rolled out the red carpet to celebrate our winners in style, and Dave outshone us all by attending in a full suit! Awards featured titles such as the ‘Best Jokes’ and ‘Snazziest Sneaks’.

Along with certificates, our winners also received a golden feather pin for Macmillan Cancer Support.

October

Wellness Week is always an important time for us at ICG. We held several activities to raise awareness of mental health inside and outside of the workplace.

From yoga sessions to music quizzes, from breakfast buffets to lunchtime walks, our theme was promoting conversations around wellness and encouraging a supportive environment for all.

Our charity bake sale of delicious Halloween-themed treats raised £100 for Breast Cancer Research.

November

ICG was up there with the best for the Prolific North Marketing Awards 2024!

We were shortlisted in the Full Service Agency of the Year category which was a huge honour.

While we didn’t bring home the trophy, it was great to get the recognition and chat with people across our industry about their experiences, challenges and ideas for 2025.

Big thanks to everyone at ICG for their continued hard work and support.

December

Everyone loves a good Christmas tradition and ICG is no different.

The Christmas tree is up, Secret Santa is on his way and our beautiful building is decked out in fairy lights.

For the fifth year running, we’ve been getting involved with the local community to support good causes with our Give Back Fridays during the four weeks leading up to Christmas.

This year, we have donated to the ‘Get Danny Home’ fundraising campaign, a local foodbank, families in need and the Mission Christmas Cash for Kids appeal.
