ICG will be staging a series of workshops at the Fylde’s first International Women’s Day Festival this Saturday.
Members of the team will be sharing their marketing knowledge and expertise with pupils from local secondary schools to inspire the next generation.
PR Manager Julie Hackett, Senior PR and Social Media Executive Abi Blundell and Account Manager Rebecca Oliver will be leading an interactive workshop entitled Behind the Instagram filters – what’s marketing?
The festival is being supported by Olympic relay medallist Kelly Massey and Olympic Pentathlon coach Dr Nic Robinson as well as role models from businesses and organisations across the North West.
It features a total of 50 workshops, 450 young women, entertainment and street food, 100 volunteers, 35 role models and the support of more than 30 businesses!
Organiser Deborah Terras said: “Young women, while gaining better GCSEs, are sadly still not reaching the same levels as young men in the world of work, in terms of securing roles and developing into management, leadership and responsibility. This needs to change and we need you to make this happen!
“With more than 450 young women expected to attend the Festival and participate from all Fylde Coast high schools, we are addressing the lack of self-belief and ambition, opportunity to flourish and access to positive local role models and positive mentors.”
