Creating traction and momentum around Global Shading Day was a key objective for the British Blind and Shutter Association in 2024.
The awareness event on March 21 was a great opportunity to talk about the positive benefits of shading for energy-efficiency, the environment, comfort and wellbeing.
Gathering strong content was an essential first step in the campaign and we maximised BBSA members’ attendance at the R&T trade fair in Germany to acquire pictures and video content in advance.
It was also important to get everyone fully engaged with the event to spread the word far and wide.
To make this happen, we made it easy as possible for BBSA members and people across the blinds and shutter sector to get involved with #GlobalShadingDay.
Pre-written social content and eye-catching assets were curated and uploaded to the BBSA website for people to download and use in their own digital marketing throughout the week of the event.
With updates to the BBSA website, email marketing and social media across the BBSA social channels, we also targeted the press and media.
Global Shading Day was created by the European Solar Shading Organisation and launched for the first time last year.
