Anxiety is the theme of this year’s Mental Health Awareness Week and exercise is a good way of dealing with anxiety.
At ICG, we’re lucky to be surrounded by green fields and space to exercise. Whether it’s a lunchtime walk, run or just some open space to enjoy fresh air and get a break from the screen, we make the most of the natural world around us.
And with Spring here, there’s no better time to get outdoors.
Last weekend, our Digital Marketing Manager, Hayley Butler, took part in the Blacksticks Blue 10k run at Beacon Fell (sponsored by Butler’s Cheese) while Account Director, Julie Hackett, joined more than 1,200 runners to take part in the Beaverbrooks 10k along Blackpool seafront to raise money for Trinity Hospice.
Senior Designer, Sam Sharples, is training for an ultra marathon, The Lap Trail Race, in the Lake District in September while Account Manager, Alison Hughes, plays goal defence for Preston Netball Club.
Meanwhile, Beth Atherfold, our Digital Marketing Executive, has taken up paddle boarding – look out for her on the water at Fairhaven Lake, Consiton and Wyresdale!
It will come as no surprise to some of you that our Managing Director, Simon Couchman has already notched up his first marathon of the year – just over three hours to complete the Manchester Marathon – he’s aiming to have clocked up 50 by the age of 50 (he’s currently at 45).
