ICG’s PR team love any mention of a celebrity, so when Blackpool Zoo told us that former superbike world champion, Carl Fogarty, and X-Factor contestant Jake Quickenden were making a special visit the team wasted no time in inviting their friends at ITV Granada along for the occasion.
The celebrity pair were visiting on business, catching up with one of Blackpool Zoo’s keepers, Adam Kenyon, who is joining them on a five day trek across some of Iceland’s most treacherous terrain to raise money for NSPCC.
A busy morning of interviews, photographs and filming resulted in a fantastic piece of Saturday evening television coverage for Blackpool Zoo.
The once-in-a-lifetime experience is open to the public with 50 places available on the trek. Those participating can choose to join either Team Foggy or Team Jake, with head-to-head challenges taking place along the route.
Each participant will be asked to raise £2,795 for the NSPCC ChildLine service and a £250 deposit is required.
